As the echoes of fluorescent fuchsia and neon green from this past spring fade out like my summer tan, floral prints are being replaced with darkly romantic motifs for the fall. Unlike most trends, this one obviously makes sense as fashion tends to incline towards more darker, polished flare. While most of you have probably shunned away your spring/summer clothing and are eager to get into the cozier side of things; I on the other hand, just can’t seem to let go of the idea that I’m losing my tan and that our days are getting shorter…
So, here I am posting an outfit representing my undying preference for spring/summer season. Bright orange trousers, navy floral blouse and my black sandals. Whatever, dressing for the weather has become overrated anyways.
Before I had purchased my trousers over the summer, I had always worn this blouse but noticed that it was always missing some extra “oomph!” with whatever I paired it with. Like I’ve said in previous posts, I’m pretty brave when it comes to pairing bold colours so when I saw that the floral print on my blouse was the exact same shade of orange my trousers had, I went all Victor Frankenstein on both pieces. More than satisfied with this colour experiment or should I call it my “floral monster” (Alright, now I’m just trying to be funny. I’ll stop.) I finished the outfit off with my black double buckle wedge sandals and black leather clutch. Accessory wise, I wanted to keep it at a minimal concerning size and colour so that my 5 foot self wouldn’t look drowned out with a bigger hand bag and just in general, I desired to keep the colour scheme of my outfit at a balance.
I’d say this outfit is blossoming!

Orange: the most feared colour by women, has found its place in the trend market.
This fiery hue that has often been the concern of making women look “washed out” or giving them a “Jack-O-lantern” look has finally expanded from the Halloween hoopla and into our wardrobes!
As it lit up the runways of spring 2013, fashion designers have since longed for more and established orange as the main focus of fall season. Not only is it making its mark onto pieces of clothing but you can also simmer on the streets with orange lipstick. Showcasing a much more youthful and playful side of yourself, opting for orange would be an ideal alternative as opposed to the same old classic red you’re used to. Stepping outside of the box is good for a change, no? Luckily for us, this bold colour is predicted to be a definite hit in spring 2014. Gahhh, I can barely contain my excitement! But in all honesty though, could orange be the new black? I wouldn’t mind. I mean, let’s face it ladies, the only way you’re going to look like a pumpkin is if you’re wearing a pumpkin costume. That’s about it.
This beautiful colour comes in many different shades and can look great on any skin tone. While pastel shades of orange generally look great on fairer skin tones, deeper and bolder shades compliment olive and darker tones.

The 3/4 length trousers that I’m wearing above are of a deep orange that isn’t quite shown in my pictures. Due to my little knowledge and lack of photographic skills, finding the right light at 8 pm wasn’t such a good idea on my part. I took these pictures on a lovely summer’s day in July and so I decided to pair these wonderful trousers with a white crop top along with my black-straw quilted handbag to give it a casual yet, ready to go about town vibe. These trousers are comfortable, fashionable and versatile. Wearing the trousers with a grey, white or black knit would make a killer combo for fall . Wondering where I purchased my pieces?
